The Jewish Uniformed Service Association of Maryland was founded in 2012 by Rabbi Chesky and Chani Tenenbaum. JUSA provides current and retired Jewish Law Enforcement officers [Military, Police, Fire and Public Safety] of the state of Maryland with educational and social support and activities. JUSA’s motto - “Serving Those who Serve Us”- reflects its mission to provide spiritual & counseling support to Jewish law enforcement members.
JUSA programs include Mezuzahs for Law Enforcement, Shabbat and High Holiday programs, One-on-one counseling and a Law Enforcement lounge. JUSA also offers a Jewish Cultural Training workshop for Law Enforcement professionals and members of the armed forces to give them an understanding of the needs of the Jewish population.
